Why is the hairy category smaller than others?

Because it is a specialist tag rather than a default. Fewer models choose it, but the ones who do are deliberate about it and build loyal audiences. For viewers that means less scrolling and more signal: nearly every room in the grid is exactly what the tag promises, which is rare in bigger categories.
